The City cabinet is the second piece launched as part of the new Privé collection by FBC London. Also included in the collection is the turquoise-suede Armour chair.
All pieces in the Privé collection are limited edition, with only 10 versions of the City cabinet ever made. The cabinet, along with several other FBC London pieces, was recently showcased at Design Days Dubai.
Crafted from hand-applied chipped oak, the cabinet’s doors are finished using a textured bronze patina. The outer sides and top of the cabinet are finished in a high-gloss chocolate-brown oak, and the base and handles in a mirror-finished polished copper.
When creating pieces for FBC London, the company’s founder, Fiona Barratt-Campbell, takes inspiration from her travels, both abroad and closer to home in her native Northumberland.
All furniture is designed by Barratt-Campbell and then handcrafted by artisans and craftsmen in the north-east of England. Texture, like the chipped oak found on the exterior of the cabinet, is one of Barratt-Campbell’s signature design elements.
Barratt-Campbell – the granddaughter of the late Sir Lawrie Barratt, founder of Barratt Developments – launched FBC London in 2013. The company currently has a showroom on Pimlico Road in London and is set to open a 6,000-square-foot flagship store in London’s Victoria in June.
