Dave Crane delivers motivational message 'tailored to UAE'

The MC, speaker and Dubai resident will speak at More Cafe in DIFC on Wednesday. We sit down for a chat with him.

On his website, Dave Crane claims to be the world's best MC, a master motivational trainer, an expert hypnotist and a so-called "life designer".

Clearly, the 45-year-old Briton is not one who's short on confidence.

On Wednesday, he'll aim to pass on some of his self-belief to an audience at the More Cafe in DIFC.

Crane is a prominent figure in Dubai, having lived there for 18 years. Previously, he was a DJ and manager at various radio stations before moving into motivational speaking as a profession.

He's also a well-known MC, covering the annual Dubai Rugby Sevens tournament for more than a decade.

While a good proportion of his work is with corporate clients, he says his speech at the cafe will be less business-orientated.

"The theme of the speech will be 'how to create your own brand', but brand is not like a company. I mean one's mindset, relationships and business," he explains.

"My speech will be covering eight major areas: family, money, happiness, confidence, health, career, romance and life purpose. I think this covers all aspects of life that people are trying to improve upon."

While there is an over-abundance of self-help and motivational experts out there, Crane insists his message is unique.

"You know, 99 per cent of self-improvement books basically say the same thing, they just deliver their message slightly differently," he says.

"But as I've lived in the UAE for so long, I can tailor my message to the UAE, and make it a survival guide for this country."
