Cinema Akil continues its summer-long programme of film screenings at Alserkal Avenue's A4 screening space this week. Treats include Fritz Lang's seminal Metropolis (1927), Mohammad Khan's more recent award-winner Factory Girl, Mel Stuart's Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971), starring Gene Wilder. The films in the Hard Days Night season all deal with issues surrounding work, technology, labour and their effects on the human condition. The screenings are free on a first-come-first-served basis.
