The late Chris Cornell made an special guest appearance as part of Yusuf's (formerly known as Cat Stevens) sold out show at Hollywood Pantages Theatre in October last year. The duo launched into a delicate take of the 1970 Cat Stevens classic Wild World.

Cornell passed away at the age of 52 on Wednesday in Detroit, in the middle of a sold out North American tour with Soundgarden. According to his representative, Brian Bumbery, the Soundgardern and Audioslave frontman’s death was “sudden and unexpected.” Tributes have already begun to pour in for one of the icons of the 1990’s grunge movement.

“So stunned to hear about Chris Cornell! Such a terrible and sad loss! Thinking of his family tonight! RIP,” said guitarist Dave Navarro.

While Sebastian Bach praised Cornell’s fun nature on a previous tour with the rockers Melvins. “Always thought we would meet again,” he said. American indie group Best Coast simply tweeted: “Rip. So young. So Sad.”
