Gautam Gulati, who has been named the winner of the reality television show Bigg Boss Halla Bol, says he plans to shift his focus to films.

Beside the Bigg Boss trophy, Gautam also won 5 million rupees (Dh296,000) during the season finale on Saturday, January 31. Karishma Tanna was runner-up this season, followed by Pritam Singh.

The spin-off of Bigg Boss 8 was hosted by filmmaker Farah Khan.

"Winning Bigg Boss is a very big moment in my life. When the show started, I thought that I would last there for long but winning the show was never on my mind," said Gulati. "Since I had that fight with Karishma in the first week itself, I decided that I'll stand out and make my presence felt.

“But now, I don’t have any grudges against anyone. I’m happy and would love to continue my friendship with all the fellow contestants.”

From flaunting abs to sharing romantic moments with Diandra Soares, Gulati made it through amid the myriad accusations made against his group P3G, which comprised Pritam, Puneet Issar, Praneet Bhai and Gautam.

Gulati, who stars in the TV soap Diya Aur Baati Hum, has also featured in international projects such as Siddhartha – The Buddha and Darpok, says Bigg Boss was a memorable experience for him but now he'll not do more TV shows.

"My journey inside the Bigg Boss house was like a roller-coaster ride. I'll never forget the months I spent in the show. Some of the contestants did try to dominate me, but I never felt the pressure. It was like a war for me which I have won," he said.

“All the members of P3G shared a very close bonding with each other inside the show and we will continue that outside too,” Gautam said.

“But I’ll focus more on films now and not TV. I think it’s the best opportunity for me to look forward to the big screen. I’m eager to make my Bollywood debut,” he added.

Asked what kind of films he wants to do, Gautam said: "I would love to do films which suit my personality and image, such as Vicky Donor and Dhoom."

What is Reform?

Reform is a right-wing, populist party led by Nigel Farage, a former MEP who won a seat in the House of Commons last year at his eighth attempt and a prominent figure in the campaign for the UK to leave the European Union.

It was founded in 2018 and originally called the Brexit Party.

Many of its members previously belonged to UKIP or the mainstream Conservatives.

After Brexit took place, the party focused on the reformation of British democracy.

Former Tory deputy chairman Lee Anderson became its first MP after defecting in March 2024.

The party gained support from Elon Musk, and had hoped the tech billionaire would make a £100m donation. However, Mr Musk changed his mind and called for Mr Farage to step down as leader in a row involving the US tycoon's support for far-right figurehead Tommy Robinson who is in prison for contempt of court.
