The Made in UAE book project is back for the fourth addition.

Launched as part of the Emirates Airlines Festival of Literature by The UAE Board on Books for Young People (UAEBBY) and the  Goethe-Institut Gulf Region, the annual initiative encourages Emirati writers to create children's books.

Aspsiring writers and illustrators are asked to submit an application in the Books – Made in UAE stand during the festival which runs until Saturday.

Successful applicants will then undergo an intensive workshop with celebrated German children’s author Anja Tuckermann before going on to create their own works.

“We knew from the very start that this project was something truly special and now, as we enter the third edition, I am extremely proud to be able to say that the results thus far have exceeded even our expectations,” said UAEBBY president Marwa Obaid Al Aqroubi.

“There is no shortage of talent in the UAE and it is a great pleasure and privilege to give young and upcoming writers and illustrators a chance to thrive.”
