After a five-year hiatus from the ramp and movies, the queen of the catwalk, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, will be back tonight as the showstopper for Indian designer Manish Malhotra at the Amazon Indian Couture Week.
The former Miss World and award-winning actress, whose career took a back seat after she married Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek and had a daughter in 2012, will sashay along in Malhotra’s exclusive creation at the show grand finale. The last time the actress walked the runway was for Malhotra at the 2010 HDIL India Couture Week.
The Bollywood actress will also make a comeback in movies this year with Sanjay Gupta's Jazbaa, in which she plays a lawyer and single mother in search of her kidnapped daughter. The movie is scheduled for release in October.
