Spice Girls to perform at Olympic concert



The Spice Girls are set to reunite for the first time since 2009 to perform at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics. The pop band will sing two songs, one of which is reported to be their 1996 hit single Wannabe. "I don't know about a comeback tour, but I loved being back with the girls," said Victoria Beckham, known in the group as Posh Spice. "We're very excited about the Olympics." * IANS

Bale: heart aches for victims

The Dark Knight Rises star Christian Bale said on Saturday his heart goes out to the victims of the Colorado shootings. "Words cannot express the horror that I feel," said Bale, who plays Batman in the film. "I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them." Adele declines Winehouse tribute

Adele has turned down an offer to perform in an Amy Winehouse tribute show, saying that she still had not come to terms with her friend's death. Winehouse died on July 23rd last year. George Michael, who is arranging the show, told a radio show in London: "We communicated by email. She told me she tried to put one of Amy's songs in her own set and she couldn't even get through it. They're obviously musical goddesses but I think the tragedy was too much for her." * IANS

Usher's stepson dies after lake accident

Kirk Glover, the 11-year-old stepson of the hip-hop artist Usher, died on Saturday, two weeks after he was critically injured in a boating accident. He was the son of Usher's ex-wife Tameka Foster. Usher, whose full name is Usher Raymond, had been in a legal battle with his ex-wife arising from a custody fight over their two sons. * AP
