Emile Sandé will perform in Sharjah this February. The British soul musician will perform at the regal Al Majaz Amphitheatre on February 16.

Born in Scotland, the 30-year-old first gained attention with the 2011 release of her debut single Heaven. The single created a buzz around Sandé's powerful voice, making her sought after by producers: she then scored further hits through collaborations with Professor Green (Read All About It) and Labrinth (Beneath Your Beautiful). It all set the stage for the arrival of her anticipated 2012 album Our Version of Events, which sold over 1 million copies in the UK and won album of the year of the 2012 Brit Awards.

Sandé's follow up, the stripped down Long Live the Angels, produced more soulful tracks in Hurts and Breathing Underwater.

Sandé is not the only non-regional act to perform at the Roman Colosseum-styled Sharjah venue. The Al Majaz Amphitheatre also hosted well attended concerts by veteran Spanish crooner Julio Iglesias in 2016 and Greek composer Yanni in 2015.

This Friday night, its stage will be home to the Sharjah World Music Festival final concert featuring Emirati-Yemeni singer Balqees and Kuwait’s Abdullah Al Rowaished.

Tickets for Emile Sande begin from Dh140 from www.ticketmaster.ae
