Dubai to host 'UAE’s largest Filipino musical festival' in November

The two-day Pinoy Music Jam 2018, which organisers claim is “the UAE’s largest Filipino Music festival,” is coming to the Dubai World Trade Centre on November 15 and 16, with performances from some of the biggest names in Filipino rock and pop.

Confirmed performers include Angeline Quinto, the “Queen of Teleserye Themes”; actress, comedian, singer and television host K Brosas, and Kyla, a Filipino R&B singer-songwriter, occasional actress and presenter.

On the rockier side, Manila’s indie-alternative outfits Autotelic and Hale will be appearing, as will Silent Sanctuary, a five-piece known for injecting classical instruments into their contemporary offering. This year’s winners of the Myx Music Awards New Artist of the Year prize, IV of Spades are also on the bill, along with indie/folk popsters Ben and Ben, alt-rockers Sandwich, and Parokya ni Edgar, who return to Dubai following a successful set at 2017’s Tagfest, as well as a slot at 2013’s High Impact A2 Festival at Meydan Racecourse.

Alongside the 10 big name Filipino acts on the Pinoy Music Jam bill, some of the best Filipino talent from across the UAE will be performing to Filipinos and fans of Filipino music alike over the festival’s two days.

Tickets for Pinoy Music Jam start at Dh95, and are available from www.platinumlist.net
