Jordanian animation, development and production company RGH Entertainment, a division of Rubicon Group Holding, was celebrating at the premiere of Postman Pat: The Movie in Leicester Square, London, this week ahead of the film’s May 23 UK cinema release.

Rubicon was the film’s main animator, having been taken on by Postman Pat rights owner Classic Media back in 2011.

The premiere hosted a star-studded line up led by members of the cast including Stephen Mangan (from Green Wing) as Postman Pat, Rupert Grint (from the Harry Potter film series), Boyzone’s Ronan Keating, who provides the singing voice for Postman Pat, and Parminder Nagra (Bend It Like Beckham, The Blacklist).

“Partnering with Lionsgate UK and Classic Media is testament to the level of creativity and latest techniques in stereoscopic CG that RGH Entertainment has developed,” said Randa Ayoubi, CEO of Rubicon Group Holding and Executive Producer for the film. “Postman Pat is an incredibly popular IP and we have treated his character with the same amount of affection and love that fans have for him across the world.”

Postman Pat: The Movie is directed by Mike Disa (Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil) from a screenplay written by Nicole Dubuc, with a story by the award-winning Kim Fuller (Spice World, High Heels & Low Lifes) and Annika Bluhm, the long-time producer of the Postman Pat television series. The cast also includes Jim Broadbent (Iris, Moulin Rouge!) and David Tennant (Doctor Who, Harry Potter).

Vanessa Whiffen who attended the premiere with her young son, said: “The movie is pure entertainment from beginning to end. Hearing the children laugh in the auditorium was heavenly, and I hummed the tunes all day long!”
