With the pandemic disrupting the usual awards season schedule, MTV decided to take things in a different direction this year.

For its annual MTV Movie & TV Awards, the broadcaster instead decided to honour the biggest pop culture moments and screen stars of recent years, rather than just focus on the muted events of 2020.

The retrospective, which aired on Sunday, December 6, named a number of stars the Greatest of All Time, among categories such as Scream Queen, Dynamic Duo, She-Ro and Comedy Giant.

Scroll through the gallery above to see who walked the red carpet at the MTV Movie & TV Awards: Greatest of All Time ceremony.

Kevin Hart was awarded the last title, while Gal Gadot won the She-Ro award for her portrayal of Wonder Woman. Late Black Panther Chadwick Boseman, who died in August aged 43 after battling colon cancer, was named Hero for the Ages.

His award was accepted by his Marvel co-stars Don Cheadle and Robert Downey Jr, who paid tribute to the actor with a video appearance.

"His impact as a groundbreaking leading man, as an icon on screen – it won't be quantified by the box office records he broke, but by the legions of fans who will celebrate him for many years to come," said Downey Jr of Boseman.

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore were named the Dynamic Duo for their work in films such as 50 First Dates, while Australian singer Sia performed at the special event.

Lily Collins, Vanessa Hudgens and Sofia Carson were among those who made an appearance to hand out awards at the socially distanced ceremony, with winners announced prior to the event.

As a solo artist, Williams has also collaborated with the likes of the late Dizzy Gillespie, Van Morrison and Mavis Staples.

He has also recorded with the likes of Kem, Dwele and Conya Doss. He comes to Dubai on the back of his new single Pass The Groove, from his forthcoming 2018 album Stronger Still, which may follow his five previous solo albums in cracking the top 10 of the US jazz charts.
Anita Williams
Dubai-based singer Anita Williams will open the night with a set of covers and swing, jazz and blues standards that made her an in-demand singer across the emirate. UAE currency: the story behind the money in your pockets

Know your camel milk:
Flavour: Similar to goat’s milk, although less pungent. Vaguely sweet with a subtle, salty aftertaste.
Texture: Smooth and creamy, with a slightly thinner consistency than cow’s milk.
Use it: In your morning coffee, to add flavour to homemade ice cream and milk-heavy desserts, smoothies, spiced camel-milk hot chocolate.
Goes well with: chocolate and caramel, saffron, cardamom and cloves. Also works well with honey and dates.
