John Travolta, best known for his starring role in Saturday Night Fever and Grease, will make his first-ever appearance in Saudi Arabia to discuss his career and Hollywood on Friday and Saturday.
The event, hosted by the General Entertainment Authority, will feature the 63-year-old actor in a live interview to discuss his path to fame.
He will also take questions from the audience with the main event opening on Friday at the Apex Convention Centre in Riyadh.
This announcement comes after the kingdom lifted the 35-year ban on cinemas on Monday, reopening the entertainment hubs early next year.
The following day, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund (PIF), signed a deal with the US-based movie chain AMC Entertainment.
PIF said Saudi Arabia’s cinema space is valued at US$1 billion, and other interested parties - such as Vox Cinema owner, Majid Al Futtaim - are looking to move into the sector.
To take part in the Travolta experience, which is free admission, registration through travolta.luxuryksa.com is required.
