In Conversation with Adel Imam and Rami Imam
The Egyptian screen legend Adel Imam may be best known as a comedy actor, but he is also a serious intellectual when it comes to Arab arts and culture. Hidden Secrets
Wonder in Narrative, featuring Abdul-Fattah Sabri, Douglas Preston and Saba Imtiaz. Writers from East and West come together to discuss their writing processes. The Literature of Justice and Crime, featuring Mohammed Ahmed Jar Allah, Suad Yousuf, He Jiahong. An international array of writers shed light on the universal appeal of crime and mystery novels. Tuesday, November 11, Book Forum, 8.30pm
Longing for You, featuring Ahlam Mosteghanemi
An intimate session with one of the Arab world’s best-loved authors and poets. The Algerian will discuss the prominent themes of romance and relationships underpinning her works. Wednesday, November 13, Ballroom, 6pm
Illustrated Tales
The Relationship between the Word and Image, featuring Omar Abdel Aziz, G Willow Wilson and Fakhri Saleh. Comic-book aficionados should enjoy this session featuring G Willow Wilson – the writer of Ms Marvel, the first Marvel comic to feature a Muslim lead character – with the discussion focusing on the growing role that imagery plays in literary culture.
