Author Dan Brown to speak at Sharjah International Book Fair

Bestselling fiction writer Dan Brown will be speaking at the 33rd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, when it opens next month.

The American novelist, who authored Angels and Demons (2000), The Da Vinci Code (2003), The Lost Symbol (2009) and Inferno (2013), will be the guest of honour at a special event at the Expo Centre in Sharjah on November 6.

His biggest hit The Da Vinci Code has sold more than 81 million copies worldwide and also topped the 100 best selling books of all time in the UK.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Dan Brown to this year’s Sharjah International Book Fair,” says Ahmed Al Ameri, director of the fair.

“This year promises to be bigger and better than ever. Mr Brown’s books continue to enthral readers from across the globe and we are ver happy to be able to offer our visitors the opportunity to meet one of the world’s most brilliant literary minds.”

Brown’s books have sold more than 200 million copies and have been translated into 55 languages.

The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons were adapted into Hollywood films in 2006 and 2009 respectively, with Tom Hanks in the lead. His latest bestseller Inferno will also be adapted for the big screen with Hanks reprising his role as Robert Langdon next year.
