For those of you in the market for a piece of something special, then tomorrow night’s Young Collector’s Auction at Ayyam Gallery in Dubai is a must.
The auction, of which lots have been on view since September 15th in the Alserkal Avenue premesis, is the 21st edition and promises, as ever, to be a lively affair.
Key lots include a 1989 painting by Safwan Dahoul, who evokes a sense of mystery and alienation with his lone figure sitting in the corner of a café littered with empty chairs.
There is also a Ramin Shirdel sculpture called Haq. The Iranian artist cleverly makes three dimensional letters and his pieces are always popular.
Emirati photographer Lamya Gargash has a piece titled National Day Sheila, depicting a mannequin wearing the UAE flag and from Saudi artist Qaswara Hafez is an untitled piece from his series of faces upon ghutras.
The auction presents an opportunity for both experienced and aspiring collectors to add to their collections and everyone is welcome to go along to watch even if you don’t intend to buy.
