A series of fine art photographs by Philip Van Avermaet that depict incense smoke will go on display in Abu Dhabi tonight.
The exhibition, Smoke Art, presents the natural movement of the smoke in all its elegance and form on a series of cleverly captured photographs.
“In my photos you will find no titles,” says Van Avermaet. “The forms and colors inspire people and let them imagine so much that I call it the art of imagination.
Imagination has no limits of age, culture, origin, and for that reason the title is personal for each and every person”
About his choice of medium, he says that “most things in life are so relevant, but people are so busy that they just pass by. That is just what I am looking for to take pictures, the simple things in life that are so close, but hidden for the eyes of most of us.”
* Smoke Art is presented by wiss Art Gate UAE together with Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi and under the patronage of the Embassy of Belgium to the UAE. The show will open in Light Box Gallery in the Marina Wing of the iconic Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi tonight at 7pm.
