If you haven’t yet been to see Diana Al Hadid’s Phantom Limb exhibition at New York University in Abu Dhabi, this weekend gives you the perfect chance.

Emirati visual artist Mohamed Al Mazrouei and Palestinian Mays Albeik will be discussing their own practices in a panel discussion moderated by art expert and historian Salwa Mikdadi. They will then move their conversation to issues relevant to Al Hadid’s exhibition. Both Al Mazrouei and Albeik’s work deal with unusual materials and subtle but distinct biographical references, which are all relevant to Diana Al-Hadid’s work as well. These artists will present and talk about the materiality and the biographical aspect of their artistic practice, and the different strategies they use in their creative process.

The talk takes place this Saturday, April 30 at 5pm in The Art Gallery, NYUAD, next to Welcome Centre.
