Don’t miss the chance to see one of the world’s foremost artists talk about his work this weekend. YZ Kami, an Iranian born artist who lives in New York, is part of some of the world’s major art collections and is represented by leading galleries in Europe and America. He will be in conversation with Venetia Porter, the British Museum’s expert on Islamic and Middle Eastern art and Linda Komaroff curator of Islamic art at LACMA at Leila Heller gallery on Friday. It is a wonderful chance to hear these two ladies speak about Kami’s impressive show White Domes, which is currently showing at the gallery. Filling all three halls of the vast space with portraits, dome works, an installation and some beautiful works on paper, the show is a must see too.
The discussion takes place at 3pm, Leila Heller Gallery, Alserkal Avenue, Friday March 18.
My full review will be published later this month.
