Art Brussels: Carbon 12

The Art Blog’s Art Brussels series continues this week with images from Carbon 12 gallery, one of four Dubai galleries that has been accepted into the prestigious programme for Europe’s most important contemporart art fair.

Showing work by Sara Rahbar and Ralf Ziervogel, the booth will be themed under “Lacuna”; which is what happens when we hear but don’t listen; when we act first and think later; it is the gap of silence from internalised trauma post and prior to violence. Ziervogel depicts pre-conflict while Rahbar presents the aftermath and the works hang intermingled, in conversation not only with the viewer, but with each other in a constant reminder of the cause and effects of violence.

* Art Brussels takes place from April 25-27. For more info visit: www.artbrussels.com
