Mr Porter gives Levi’s jeans a leg up

Remember the days when a pair of Levi’s were the ultimate style statement? Well, MrPorter.com is doing its bit to reinvigorate those symbols of 90s chic.

The online fashion retailer has partnered with the Levi’s brand to launch a limited-edition three-piece range of men’s jeans.

Made in San Francisco, the new Levi’s 501 CTs (the CT, incidentally, stands for customised and tapered) have been designed in collaboration with Mr Porter’s denim buyer, Sam Kershaw. Each pair takes around 72 hours to create and is crafted from White Oak selvedge denim from North Carolina’s Cone Mills. The company has collaborated with Levi’s for around a century, so you’re in safe hands.

“For years, people have taken the iconic 501 and customised them by getting on a sewing machine and giving the legs a taper,” says Jonathan Cheung, head of design at Levi’s. “With the 501 CT, we’ve done that work for you. We customised them and worked with the lovely people from Mr Porter to make them even more special.”
