Here is an inexact "science" to determine which Pro League team has the cream of the Emirati footballing crop:

Look at the likely starting lineup for the UAE's international friendly with Kuwait tomorrow night.

If the coach Srecko Katanec knows his business, the team with the most elite national talent is ...

Al Wahda. And it's not close.

The defending champions boast four members of the likely lineup: the defender Hamdan al Kamali, the midfielders Mahmoud Khamis and Mohammed al Shehhi and the forward Ismail Matar.

Second in the Katanec rankings ... are Al Jazira and Baniyas, each with two starters. Jazira provides the midfielder Subait Khater and the defender Khalid Sabeel, and Baniyas sends the midfielder Amer Abdulrahman and the defender Yousef Jabar.

Three clubs each provided one likely starter: From Al Shabab, the defender Waleed Abbas; from Al Wasl, the goalkeeper Majid Nasr; and from Al Ahli, the forward Ahmed Khalil.
