Khushboo Kaplesh unveils dramatic new collection

Dubai-based designer Khushboo Kaplesh has created a collection full of drama and glamour for autumn/winter 2016. Colourful tweeds and supple chiffons are given an air of extravagance in her latest designs, with pearl embellishments and almost blinding sequinned overlays. Silhouettes vary from shirt-dresses and pencil skirts to capes and gowns, and pieces are decked out with tiers, ruffles and loads of shimmer.

Kaplesh was born and raised in Dubai, where she graduated from the French Fashion Institute, Esmod Dubai. At the age of 21 she launched her own couture label, while simultaneously managing her ready-to-wear line that was stocked at local boutiques like S*uce and Valleydez. In 2013, she was the winner of the annual S*uce Design-a-Dress competition, where she entered a dress adorned with 25 and 50 Fils coins.

Autumn/winter 2016 marks the third season of the designer’s prêt-à-porter line, which will land in local boutiques next month. Find her current spring/summer 2016 pieces at Be You Boutique in Jumeirah Plaza, Dubai.
