Admirers of timepieces and architecture will be interested to hear that Ebel has launched a new watch to mark 30 years as owners of the famous Villa Turque in Switzerland.

Called La Maison Ebel, this limited-edition timepiece has a 35mm, 18K gold case decorated with white diamonds, and a matching 18K gold bracelet. It is limited to just 75 pieces and only available through Mansour Jewellers in the UAE, which also designed it.

The watch is described by Flavio Pellegrini, global president of Ebel, as being “built on the same founding principle of the architectural magic that happens when beauty marries function”.

Villa Turque was built in 1916 by architect Le Corbusier in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Originally commissioned by watchmaker Anatole Schwob, it was named after him until Ebel bought the house in 1986 and renamed it. Considered to be one of Le Corbusier’s greatest works before he moved to Paris, the house is known for its elaborate technical and design details, as befitting a watchmaker’s home.
