It was an event kept under wraps until the last possible moment and The National was given the regional scoop. This was to be Dolce and Gabbana's first show on foreign soil.
The top tier of Asian society was invited to attend Alta Artiginalità in Hong Kong’s Peninsula Hotel as the Italian designers showcased their couture for women (Alta Moda) and men (Alta Sartoria).
“The looks are very Oriental in their influence but also completely Dolce & Gabbana – all the codes are there. The history and legacy of the Far East, as well as this hotel, was very important for us to bring out,” said a relaxed looking Gabbana backstage at the event.
