The Virgin TV Bafta Television Awards 2017 are taking place tonight – and we’ve had a sneak peek inside the gift bag that will be received by all nominees.
Goodies on offer include a bracelet from Carat London, a box of chocolates, hair products from Charles Worthington, an invitation to visit the Villa Maria Estate in New Zealand, and a custom-created, eco friendly Victoria Lam bag made from recycled wool.
What we were most excited to see, however, was a pair of limited-edition, foldable shoes by Cocorose London. We are huge proponents of practical footwear, and it appears that even at the Baftas, comfort comes first.
Cocorose was founded in 2007 by Janan Leo, who believed “there was a need to make women’s increasingly busy lifestyles easier”. Leo had always loved heels, but had never found them to be practical or comfortable. So she created foldable shoes that could be carried around and then slipped on once the heels began to pinch.
“The burdens of uncomfortable footwear as a city commuter inspired me to found Cocorose London, which has since resonated with countless high-profile figures, including the likes of Dame Helen Mirren and Pippa Middleton. Joanna Lumley, who made use of Cocorose’s footwear on her latest shoot in India, will receive the prestigious Bafta Fellowship on Sunday and is the perfect example of the need for collective comfort and style for busy, multitasking women around the globe,” says Leo.
“Our Bafta understated ballerinas are black, with just the right amount of sparkle, and fold into their gold travel purse, ensuring the nominees will be able to safely kick off their heels following their red-carpet debut and shimmy the night away at the after-party.”
While the Bafta ballerinas are one-off designs, the closest variations that Cocorose offers are the Royal Ballet Tatiana shoes. Check them out here.
