$2m guitar created by UAE company is world’s most expensive

A UAE-based business has created the most expensive guitar in the world – worth a cool US$2million (Dh7.3m).

Based on a classic Gibson SG, the guitar is adorned with 400 carats of Coronet diamonds, set into a bed of 1.6kg of 18-carat gold.

Guinness World Records has confirmed it as the most valuable guitar on the planet.

Named Eden of Coronet, the luxurious guitar was created by designer Mark Lui in association with Lifestyle Fine Jewelry, which has more than 35 outlets in the UAE, plus a handful elsewhere in the GCC. Its regional headquarters is in Dubai and its parent company is Aaron Shum Jewellery.

The piece – which took 62 craftsmen, three product-development specialists and two project managers 700 days to complete – was unveiled by Hong Kong retailers Chow Tai Fook on May 24.
