There were 164 railway accidents in 2017, killing 133 people and injuring 50, according to a report from the Vietnam Railways Corporation. According to Vu Quang Khoi, director of the railway department under the Ministry of Transport at a meeting recently, its the lack of human resources as well as necessary equipment at railway stations that is the weaknesses of Vietnam's railway system.
