White House senior adviser Jared Kushner arrived in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to discuss regional stability and areas of co-operation with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Mr Kushner flew to the kingdom after visits to the UAE and Bahrain.
He and Prince Mohammed discussed "prospects for the peace process in the region and the need to resume negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides to achieve a just and lasting peace", the Saudi Press Agency said.

"During the meeting, they discussed the partnership between the two friendly countries and the importance of strengthening it in all fields to achieve security and stability in the region, and to ensure the bolstering of international peace and security," Spa reported.
The Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, also attended the meeting.
Mr Kushner is expected to make other stops on his way back to the US, including the UK where he will meet Foreign Minister Dominic Raab.
