The president of Saudi Arabia's national aviation body, Abdulhakim bin Mohammed bin Suleiman Al Tamimi, has been sacked from his position.
The decision to remove him as head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) came from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia, early on Tuesday.
The state-run Saudi Press Agency said that the "pertinent authorities" had been instructed to implement the royal order.
Mr Al Tamimi was appointed to his position in 2017.
No details were given for his removal from the position.

His life in brief: Born in a village near Galilee, he lived in exile for most of his life and started writing poetry after high school. He was arrested several times by Israel for what were deemed to be inciteful poems. Most of his work focused on the love and yearning for his homeland, and he was regarded the Palestinian poet of resistance. Over the course of his life, he published more than 30 poetry collections and books of prose, with his work translated into more than 20 languages. Many of his poems were set to music by Arab composers, most significantly Marcel Khalife. Darwish died on August 9, 2008 after undergoing heart surgery in the United States. He was later buried in Ramallah where a shrine was erected in his honour.

UN Panel of Experts found regime secretly sold a fifth of the country's gold reserves.
The panel’s 2017 report followed a trail to West Africa where large sums of cash and gold were hidden by Abdullah Al Senussi, Qaddafi’s former intelligence chief, in 2011.
Cases filled with cash that was said to amount to $560m in 100 dollar notes, that was kept by a group of Libyans in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
A second stash was said to have been held in Accra, Ghana, inside boxes at the local offices of an international human rights organisation based in France.
