Five people including a 16-year-old have been arrested as part of an investigation into right-wing terrorism.
The teenager was arrested in Swindon, Wiltshire on suspicion of being linked to the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
Other arrests by the Counter-Terrorism Policing North East unit took place in West Yorkshire and North Wales and a number of properties are being searched, police said on Saturday.
Two men, aged 29 and 30, and a woman aged 28 were arrested in Keighley, West Yorkshire. They face similar charges, along with a 28-year-old man arrested in Anglesey.
All of them have been taken to West Yorkshire for questioning.
"The arrests form part of an ongoing investigation led by Counter Terrorism Policing North East into to right-wing terrorism," a police spokesperson said.
“We recognise that local people may have concerns as a result of this activity. We would like to reassure them that these arrests are pre-planned and intelligence-led and there is not believed to be any immediate risk to the local community,”
