Worker dies at Louvre Abu Dhabi construction site

ABU DHABI // A Louvre Abu Dhabi construction worker has died on-site of natural causes.

Jaleel Kandi, a 57-year-old Indian electrician, suffered a heart attack while washing up at the welfare area of the site, said the Tourism Development and Investment Company.

He received medical attention at the scene before being taken by ambulance to hospital, where he was pronounced dead, the developers said.

“Abu Dhabi police and related authorities have concluded an investigation into the incident and determined that his death was the result of natural causes,” TDIC said.

A death certificate has been issued and Mr Kandi’s body has been repatriated to India.

TDIC said it had “strict policies” in place regarding workers’ welfare.
