DUBAI// An Indian welfare organisation is to provide overseas Indian families and workers in distress with free medical check-ups, health insurance, pension schemes and tuition fees along with booksthis year.
The Dubai-based Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) said it would help at least 1,200 poor workers who were suffering from serious illnesses with medicines and free treatment.
Five schools in the emirate have been selected to refer to them 25 students, whose families are struggling to pay tuition fees.
Initially, 2,000 people - based on their income levels - will be chosen to get health insurance and up to Dh50,000.
Also, 200 expatriates returning to India will be given a pension of 2,000 rupees every month.
