UAE weather: Generally fair but chance of increasing cloud

AJMAN // Conditions are expected to be fair to cloudy over some areas of the UAE on Monday.

Cloud will increase at times and may develop to rain over the western areas and islands, the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology said.

Winds will be generally light to moderate, while temperatures are expected to hit a high of 33°C and a low of 15°C in the internal region.

The coastal areas will have a high of 31°C and a low of 18°C, forecasters said. Temperatures will be cooler in the mountains, with a high of 23°C and a low of 11°C.

The centre said relative humidity would increase to between 75 and 95 per cent during the late night and early Tuesday morning in the interior, with a chance of fog, especially over the west.

In coastal areas it will rise to between 70 and 85 per cent.

The Arabian Gulf will be generally moderate and may become rough at times by late night, while in the Sea of Oman it will be moderate.

Key recommendations
  • Fewer criminals put behind bars and more to serve sentences in the community, with short sentences scrapped and many inmates released earlier
  • Greater use of curfews and exclusion zones to deliver tougher supervision than ever on criminals.
  • Explore wider powers for judges to punish offenders by blocking them from attending football matches, banning them from driving or travelling abroad through an expansion of ‘ancillary orders’.
  • More Intensive Supervision Courts to tackle the root causes of crime such as alcohol and drug abuse – forcing repeat offenders to take part in tough treatment programmes or face prison.
