ABU DHABI // Fog covered large areas of the UAE on Thursday morning and is expected to return during the weekend.
“Most of internal and coastal parts of the country have reported fog formation early morning on Thursday where visibility dropped below 500 metres,” the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said.
At about 12.30am on Thursday, dense fog covered most of the interior and coastal areas of Liwa in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi. Mist also blanketed parts of Ras Al Khaimah, Al Minhad, Sweihan and Al Dhafrah, the centre said.
The centre warned of fog formation during the weekend as well.
The weather was blamed for a number of accidents in Dubai on Thursday morning.
The maximum temperature on Thursday in the interior parts of the country will range from 31°C to 35°C with a minimum range of 14°C to 21°C.
In coastal areas there will be a maximum of 29°C to 33°C and minimum between 18°C and 24°C.
The centre also forecast humidity reaching up to 95 per cent in the interior and 90 per cent in coastal areas.
