UAE to have two new African embassies

ABU DHABI // The cabinet yesterday approved the establishment of new embassies in Kenya and Uganda. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi, chaired by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, state news agency WAM reported. The cabinet also gave approval for the restructuring of the boards of directors of the General Authority for Youth Welfare and Sports, the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf and the Emirates Securities and Commodities Authority, it said. A number of technical regulations on food products - setting mandatory standards to maintain safety and public health - were also agreed. Several other agreements were also ratified including one between UAE and Kazakhstan covering visa exemptions for diplomatic passport holders and agreements with Turkmenistan and Greece on air services. * WAM
