ABU DHABI // Motorists heading to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah experienced congestion and delays at morning rush-hour on Tuesday.

Abu Dhabi Police took to Twitter to report tailbacks at the Between Two Bridges and the Saeed bin Tahnoon Street (19th Street) junctions at 7.40am and 8.01am, respectively.

Police did not specify what had caused the congestion, but traffic in both areas was back to normal after about half an hour.

In Dubai, a minor accident was reported at 7.53am on a side ramp on E44 Al Khail Road near Hessa Street intersection towards Sharjah, causing congestion and tailbacks.

Motorists also faced long delays after another minor accident on S112 Maliha Road near Sharjah High School, towards E611-Emirates Road and Kalba.
