DUBAI // Dense fog in parts of the city slowed commuters on Tuesday morning with accidents exacerbating delays.
Mist was particularly dense on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near Dubai Sports City, which caused slow-moving traffic when approaching the Dubai Investments Park interchange towards Abu Dhabi.
Eight accidents were reported in Dubai, one of them involved several vehicles near Airport International Tunnel and caused tailbacks, according to @TrafficDXB.
Accidents were also reported on Umm Suqueim Road near King’s Dubai School, on Sheikh Zayed Road after the FGB Metro Station towards Sharjah and on Al Itihad Road opposite Dubai International Airport towards Abu Dhabi.
Traffic build-up was reported near Jumeirah Village Circle, the Umm Suqeim area, Al Barsha, Al Naseem Street and Jebel Ali Street.
In the capital congestion clogged traffic on the Al Saada Street west off Shakbout bin Sultan Street and also on Al Salam Street.
In Sharjah traffic was heavy on the Al Maliha Road off Kalba Road.
