Two Emiratis die in Umm Al Quwain car accident



UMM AL QUWAIN // Two Emiratis in their twenties died in a car accident in Umm Al Quwain early on Monday morning.

The crash took place in a desert in Kaber area at 12.20am, authorities said, when the driver lost control of his vehicle while at a high speed, said Lt Col Saeed bin Eran, director of the UAQ Police traffic and patrols department.

The driver and passenger were severely injured and taken to Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital.

The passenger died upon arrival, while the driver was admitted to the intensive care unit, where he succumbed to his injuries, said Lt Col bin Eran.

They were buried on Monday after noon prayers in the Umm Al Quwain cemetery.

Lt Col bin Eran asked motorists to drive with caution, especially in desert areas where it is difficult to control the vehicle while driving at high speeds.
