Health Authority Abu Dhabi, Department of Transport and Abu Dhabi’s taxi regulator, TransAD, have introduced child-safety car seats in taxis and cars for hire.
The initiative aims to train family van taxi drivers on the importance of safety seats, for the purpose of cutting the number of injuries to children in road traffic accidents.
A workshop was organised to train taxi drivers on how to use the seats. Brochures were prepared in Arabic and English to instruct parents on how to choose appropriate car seats for their children.
