Motorists in Dubai faced traffic congestion on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near Al Houdh roundabout towards Abu Dhabi on Sunday morning, as well as Sheikh Zayed Road and at the Al Nahda tunnel.
Dubai Police said two accidents took place on Sunday morning on Al Wasl Road and Tunis Road.
Traffic moved relatively smoothly in Abu Dhabi. A bus broke down at the Qasr Al Bahar tunnel on Al Salam Street around 8am, causing traffic delays before the road was cleared.
