Sharjah // Eleven pickup trucks used as unlicensed mobile garages to fix flat tyres on the side of the road have been seized by police.
Officers, working with Sharjah Municipality, monitored the vehicles operating around the emirate, and specifically on the E611 Emirates Road highway, where they worked on heavy lorries.
”Those vehicles are not licensed to carry out this kind of work, they pose a great danger to commuters on the busy highway,” said Lt. Col. Ahmed bin Darwish, Acting Director of traffic and patrols department.
Police patrols confiscated the trucks because they were in violation of traffic laws.
Police urged drivers to abide with the traffic rules and refrain from parking on the hard shoulder except in an emergency.
