DUBAI // Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a law regulating the disposition of impounded vehicles in the emirate.
The law establishes a committee that will sell the vehicles at a public auction. The committee includes representatives from Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Public Prosecution and other concerned government entities.
The committee will be tasked with checking and evaluating the impounded vehicles and making sure, in coordination with the judiciary authorities, whether they were seized by any other entity.
The law will make Dubai Police the central entity responsible for disposing of impounded vehicles after three months of impoundment in coordination and cooperation with other government authorities.
