Man dies in RAK after vehicle crashes into hole

A motorist was killed after a tyre on his vehicle exploded and he lost control of the vehicle, Ras Al Khaimah Police said.

RAS AL KHAIMAH // A man was killed in Ras Al Khaimah on Monday afternoon after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a deep cement hole.

The motorist, from an Asian country, lost control of the wheel after a tyre on the vehicle exploded, said Col Ali Al Alkum, director of the RAK Police traffic and patrol department.

The body was taken to hospital, said Col Alkum. He urged all motorists to carry out periodic maintenance on tyres.​
