Maintenance work taking place along 44 kilometres of Mohammed bin Zayed Road, from Umm Al Quwain to Ras Al Khaimah, will be completed by the end of the first quarter of the year, said the Ministry of Public Works.

An official at the ministry said that the diversions requiring motorists to use Al Ittihad Road or Emirates Road at exit 103 will end in 45 days.

The ministry urged the companies in charge of the project to expedite the work to lessen the impact of the detours on motorists, reported Al Ittihad, the Arabic-language sister paper of The National.
