Hala taxis slash fares for passengers on hospital trips

The National

Taxis in Dubai have slashed their fares for passengers on hospital trips.

Hala, Dubai Taxi’s cab booking service and Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is offering discounted fares to select hospitals until April 18.

Passengers will get a discount of 20 per cent per ride booked on the Careem app, to over 43 select hospitals and healthcare facilities. The maximum discount per ride is Dh10.

The reduced fare will be valid on Hala (Dubai Taxi) and Hala Van Taxi, for a maximum of 10 trips per user.

Hala taxis will be available only to passengers who have to leave home on emergency work like buying food, essential supplies or making trips to the hospital and commuting to work in one of the vital sectors approved by the government.

When booking a ride to one of the selected hospitals, customers will get a hospital promo code on the blog section of the website https://halaride.com/helpinghand.

UAE residents are being urged to stay home and stay safe as a nationwide sterilisation drive has been launched to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Public transport services will be suspended and roads sealed off so they can be sprayed while the comprehensive cleaning drive is carried out.

The safety scheme, which started on March 26 will continue until April 4.

Residents are restricted to leave homes between 8pm to 6am.

The UAE government has encouraged people to stay indoors and practice social distancing in recent days as it stepped up efforts to limit the spread of the disease.
