DUBAI // Six people were injured on Sheikh Zayed Road at about 2am on Monday when a car driven by an alleged drink-driver collided with a minibus taking tourists to Abu Dhabi.

The Syrian driver of a BMW crashed into the rear of the minibus, causing the bus driver to lose control and hit the central barrier of the motorway, police said. Four of the injured were Russian tourists. Their injuries ranged from slight to serious.

Police arrested the BMW driver to have his blood level checked.

If found guilty of drink-driving, he could face a month in prison, receive 24 black points, and have his car impounded for at least three months.
