Motorists en route to Downtown Dubai from Abu Dhabi and Dubai Marina were met with heavy traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road because of an accident near Al Quoz.
The accident caused delays of up to an hour starting from the D63 to Dubai World Trade Centre.
Farther down Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, near Sharjah, commuters on the E11 Dubai-bound experienced a complete stall. The cause of the hold-up was unclear.
Motorists heading to Abu Dhabi were met with rush hour-related congestion near Safa Park on Sheikh Zayed Road.
An accident on Ras Al Khor Road from Al Ain to Dubai was also causing heavy delays.
Those driving from Dubai Sports City to Jebel Ali along Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road suffered heavy traffic starting in Jumeirah Village Triangle and clearing up next to Discovery Gardens.
Commuters in the capital can expect a traffic-free commute.

A little about CVRL
Founded in 1985 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, the Central Veterinary Research Laboratory (CVRL) is a government diagnostic centre that provides testing and research facilities to the UAE and neighbouring countries.
