Thousands of people have benefited from an awareness campaign on roads and traffic issues in Abu Dhabi the past four months.
About 12,000 people have gained valuable information from 131 traffic awareness sessions introduced by Abu Dhabi Police’s traffic and patrols directorate at transport companies, schools and universities.
Col Jamal Al Ameri, head of public relations at the directorate, said another initiative will be launched during Ramadan.
Topics include intensifying traffic control on internal and external roads, crowded places, markets and commercial areas.
Col Al Ameri urged motorists to adhere to traffic laws, reduce speed, pay attention to the road, avoid using hand-held phones while driving and leave enough distance between the car in front.
