Traffic from Dubai to Abu Dhabi at standstill following accident

Traffic is moving slowly on the Sheikh Zayed Road from Dubai to Abu Dhabi after a Land Rover crashed into a central reservation.

The accident, which occurred somewhere around 8.45am, caused all six lanes of traffic to come to a standstill and while the traffic is slowly moving again motorists are advised to drive carefully near the Abu Dhabi – Ghweifat International Highway.

UPDATE: The road has cleared as of 9am.
